International Student Scholarships

1. Scholarships for Privately Funded International Students

Scholarships for privately Financed international students are determined based on various criteria, such as academic performance and character. The opening of applications will be announced on the international student bulletin board. For details, please see the guidelines distributed and posted at that time.

SGH Foundation Scholarship for Privately-funded International Students January ~ March Students with Southeast Asian country nationality who will start their 3rd year of undergraduate study, or their 1st year of graduate study in a master's program, or their 2nd year of study in a doctoral program 120,000 yen two years
Fukushima Mirai Study Group Scholarship February ~ April Undergraduate, graduate, or research students of Vietnamese nationality 50,000 yen one year
JEES International Student Scholarship February ~ April Regular students in their 2nd year or above with a grade point average of 2.6 or higher in their previous year 40,000 yen one year
JEES Japanese Language Education Scholarship February ~ April Students who aim to become Japanese language teachers and who score 170 points or higher (100 points or higher for those whose native language is other than Chinese or Korean) on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Level 1 50,000 yen two years maximum
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) International Student Scholarship (Special Category) April Regular students who wish to work in Japan after graduation and who are in one of the following categories:
(1) 4th year undergraduate student or 2nd year graduate student (3rd year graduate student if in a doctoral program)

(2) 3rd year undergraduate student or 1st year graduate student (2nd year graduate student if in a doctoral program)
48,000 yen one year
