Ryota Takahashi, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, and Shogo Ishikawa, who graduated from the faculty in March 2021, passed the Certified Public Accountants Examination (CPA) in 2021 and reported to the President.
Mr. Takahashi is the second student to pass the exam while still in school since the establishment of the new Fukushima University in March 1949, following the one who passed in 2020,
The number of applicants for this year's examination was 14,192, and the final number of successful applicants was 1,360, with a passing rate of 9.6%.
The two students studied hard for 4,000 to 5,000 hours, which is considered to be required to pass the exam, while studying in Shuji Okuyama’s Seminar and participating in the "Kaikeishi-Juku", a gathering of young people who aspire to become accounting professionals under the guidance of Hirokazu Takahashi, who is a certified public accountant and also an alumnus of the university.
Both Mr. Takahashi and Mr. Ishikawa have been offered employment at an auditing firm from next April, and it is expected that they will continue to play an active role in the future.
